Deployment Status Definitions

Normal

• There are no current or imminent deployments.

Advisory

• VMAT-1 is notified of a potential deployment by FEMA.
• Our team leadership may initiate a Call-Down of all team members to notify the team of a developing situation.

Alert

• VMAT-1 team leader has received official word from FEMA of a possible need for our team to activate.
• At this time, VMAT-1 will initiate a Call-Up and notify all team members of the Alert.
• Team members will begin to evaluate their work situation and begin to discuss the possibility of leaving their jobs for 7-14 days.
• VMAT-1 personnel will assess the readiness of personal gear for the specific area climate and make necessary changes.
• VMAT-1 leader will notify FEMA of the team's availability and readiness.

Activated

• When activated, VMAT-1's services have been requested.
• The team commander will initiate a team notification.
• Upon activation, team members must be at the point of departure at the time given by the team commander.

Deployed

• VMAT-1 team is currently on deployment.
